Call for Volunteers

Join the Australia Natural Science Foundation (ANSF) as a Volunteer

The Australia Natural Science Foundation (ANSF) is an independent academic institution dedicated to advancing natural science research in Australia. We warmly invite individuals passionate about biodiversity conservation, ecology, climate change, geosciences, marine and freshwater ecology, environmental monitoring technologies, invasive species management, conservation biology, earth sciences, science communication, and international research collaboration to join us as volunteers.

Volunteers play a vital role in amplifying our impact, particularly through participation in cross-national research projects, international academic exchanges, global environmental initiatives, and the worldwide dissemination of our journal, thereby contributing to stronger natural science collaboration between Australia and the international community.

 

Volunteer Opportunities


We currently offer volunteer opportunities in the following areas (some involving international collaboration):

  • Scientific Review AssistantsAssist with initial screening and peer-review coordination for the Australian Journal of Natural Sciences (AJNS), collaborating with international reviewers.
  • Communication & Outreach VolunteersHelp create bilingual (English-Chinese) social media content, international newsletters, and website updates to share our research with a global audience.
  • Project Support VolunteersContribute to ongoing projects, such as invasive species monitoring, ecosystem data analysis, and conservation technology pilots (international joint research welcome).
  • Event & Administrative SupportSupport international online seminars, cross-border workshops, and general administrative tasks (mostly remote).


Requirements and Benefits


What we are looking for

  • Passion for natural sciences, conservation, or environmental issues
  • University students, early-career researchers, or professionals are welcome to apply
  • Candidates with a research background will be given priority
  • Strong written English skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to commit 4–10 hours per week (flexible schedule, mostly remote)
